During the 1970’s the founders of Kitsap Tenant Support Services (KTSS), the parent company of Kitsap Home Care Services, were among the first providers in Washington State to create Independent Supportive Living Programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.  These innovative programs established a national trend towards moving adults with developmental disabilities into their own homes, leaving the clinical setting of an institution.

KTSS strongly believes that all services to individuals with disabilities should be based on individual need, designed to preserve human dignity, protect individual civil and human rights and encourage the involvement and responsibilities of the individual’s family and community.

In 1998, KTSS established Kitsap Home Care Services to provide non-medical personal care services. This division makes it possible for clients to maintain independence while staying in their own homes.

In 2005, KTSS took their over 30 years of experience to establish the Olympic Peninsula Supportive Living Program, which provides Independent Supportive Living Services to Jefferson and Clallam Counties.
