Position Available: Direct Service Staff "Intensive Tenant Support Program" Direct Service Staff in this program work with developmentally disabled adults who have extensive needs, assisting them with activities ranging from personal grooming and meal preparation to shopping, housekeeping and recreational outings. This position may entail lifting clients, changing Attends and G-Tube feedings. This position may also act as a nurse delegate, administering medications to clients. The degree of disability is different with each client, but the goal of teaching and fostering independence is always the same. Direct Service Staff need to be caring, patient, reliable and good communicators. A high school diploma/GED, good writing skills and attention to detail are important characteristics for Community Support workers. Starting pay is $10 to $12 per hour.
