We offer a variety of classes for the long term care worker and those caring for loved ones. Classes focus on managing activities of daily living skills as well as more specialized skills required to respond to medical emergencies. All classes are taught by DSHS approved instructors for:

  • Adult Family Homes
  • Boarding Homes
  • Adult Residential Care
  • Home Care
  • Residential Services
Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving: We offer a DSHS approved 28 hour (4 days) course training to provide knowledge in the safe and effective skills needed to provide personal care.

Continuing Education: Covering a wide variety of topics, we offer the DSHS approved 4 hour mental health course and DSHS 6 hour dementia class. In additional our Continuing Education classes are 2 hour sessions that provide the caregiver with well –rounded topics unique to their caregiving environment.

HIV/Blood Borne Pathogens: This class meets the Washington State requirement for workers in healthcare. Covered are basic precautions, post-exposure procedures, reporting, and treatment. 4 and 7 hour classes are available to meet specific needs.

Adult CPR/AED and First Aid: Being able to respond in an emergency can be a lifesaving skill. This class is taught by certified *American Heart Association instructors who focus on First Aid and CPR protocols.

Infant and Child CPR: Are you a schoolteacher, child care worker, or new parent? Invest in the safety of your children by learning the latest techniques in child and infant CPR taught by certified Red Cross instructors.

Residential Services Staff Training: This 4 day course, is designed to provide basic introductory training information to new staff that will be providing instruction and support services in the Supported Living Programs or Group Homes.
