We offer a variety of classes for the long term care worker and those caring for loved ones. Classes focus on managing activities of daily living skills as well as more specialized skills required to respond to medical emergencies. All classes are taught by DSHS approved instructors for:

75 Hour Requirement for Certified Home Care Aid: The State of WA requires all caregivers to complete 75 hours of training to become a certified Home Care (HCA). Our Training Center offers Core Basic Training through our Enhanced Fundamentals of Caregiving, Orientation, Safety, and Population Specific electives as well as Continuing Education classes. We have all the necessary resources to ensure caregivers become successful certified HCAs. For more information on WA State requirements for HCA certification please click HERE.

Enhanced Fundamentals of Caregiving:
We offer a DSHS approved 40 hour (5 day) training course to implement working knowledge of creating and maintaining safety as well as impart effective skills needed to provide personal care.

Continuing Education/Population Specific Electives: We offer a diverse variety of DSHS approved courses that span increments of 2-6 hours per session. In addition, our Continuing Education classes may also be used towards Population Specific Electives.* This flexibility affords the caregiver well-rounded topics tailored to their caregiving environment. *Excluding “Dental Care”

HIV/Blood Borne Pathogens: This class meets the Washington State requirement for workers in healthcare. The 4 hour class covers Etiology and Epidemiology, Transmission, Testing and Counseling, Clinical Manifestations, and Treatment. The 7 hour class includes all of the 4 hour class along with Legal/Moral Issues and Psycho-Social Implications. This course is mandatory in order to qualify for the Nursing Assistant Registered (WAC 296-823-12005).

Adult First Aid/CPR/AED: Being able to respond in an emergency can be a lifesaving skill. This class is taught by certified *American Heart Association instructors who focus on First Aid and CPR protocols.

Residential Services Staff Training: This 40 hour (5 day) course is designed to implement basic introductory training for staff that will be providing instruction and support services in the Supported Living Programs or Group Homes.
